One of the standout features is the Baltic Gold.
There is a legend behind the Lithuanian Amber that narrate of an Amber Palace built in the Baltic Sea from Perkunas, God of Thunder, for his daughter, Jurate, that was married to someone. One day a fisherman comes fishing under Jurate's palace and discovering a very lucky fishing activity, he decides to remains under its cliffs. At the sight of the fisherman, princess Jurate is very angry and impatient at first , but then she finds herself completely in love with the man. At the news of her daughter's new love, Perkunas becomes so angry that he destroys the palace that he would have built for the daughter. The palace was composed of Baltic Gold , which went in pieces after the God's of Thunder's Turmoil. The legend goes that these amber pearls falling on the oceanic meanders at the bottom of what was the palace, would symbolise the eternal love between Jurate and the fisherman.
Una leggenda legata all'ambra lituana narra di un palazzo d'ambra costruito nel Mar Baltico da Perkūnas, il dio del tuono, per sua figlia Jūratė. Un giorno, un pescatore giunse a pescare sotto il palazzo di Jūratė e, constatata l'eccezionale abbondanza di pesce, decise di trattenersi ai piedi delle sue scogliere. Inizialmente, alla vista del pescatore, la principessa Jūratė provò rabbia e irritazione, ma ben presto si innamorò perdutamente dell'uomo. Appresa la notizia del nuovo amore della figlia, Perkūnas andò su tutte le furie e distrusse il palazzo che aveva costruito per lei. L'edificio era fatto di "oro del Baltico", materiale che andò in frantumi a causa dell'ira del dio del tuono. La leggenda vuole che quei frammenti d'ambra, caduti sui fondali marini dove un tempo sorgeva il palazzo, simboleggino l'amore eterno tra Jūratė e il pescatore.
The Tradition of the Flowers
In Lituania , there is the tradition for people to bring flowers with them while walking.
The first thing I happened to observe on the 1st of September was the tradition of children and younger adults holding flowers in their hands to bring to their teachers for the first day of school.
